Set the facing

Required

Stand inside and face the front door — the direction you are looking is the "facing". The opposite is the sitting direction. If unsure, pick the closest one.

Facing:not set

The facing fixes the house trigram, and the house trigram fixes each direction's star.
Modern flats are rarely square, so take the outward normal of the wall containing your entrance door.

Establish the life trigram

Required

Only the birth year is needed to derive your life trigram (east or west group); no month or day required.

How to read your result

01

Start with the four auspicious directions

Which palaces hold Sheng Qi, Tian Yi, Yan Nian and Fu Wei — the positions most worth using in this home.

02

Then compare you and the house

Same group means harmony. If not, the aim is to move the places you spend most time in onto your own good directions.

03

Then look at door, bedroom and stove

If any of the three lands on a poor direction, the report gives a concrete remedy or an alternative placement.
